First Day Lessons - 478 Miles Done

So the first day of the journey covered 478 miles from Beaver Creek to Jackson Hole with some important lessons learned along the way. Not 3 hours into the drive I decided I liked the speed limit signs that displayed two separate speeds for day and night driving and thought it would make a cool picture. Unfortunately for Sarah and I we were not aware that the snow bank on the side of the road was actually not stable and hence the car feel into the ditch!

I would post a picture of my car in a ditch here but my Internet connection is pretty crappy right now so it will have to wait until I can get a better connection. The picture is pretty funny my two uphill tires are pretty much off the road.

Lucky for us people "on the road" are super friendly. We got picked up by the second passing truck and were soon in the town of Baggs WY (first town over the CO/WY boarder) and shortly thereafter back at the car. With little trouble we got pulled out of the ditch and were back on our way. It is funny now looking back at it but for a little bit we were up shit creek without a paddle. But you live and learn and now we know not to pull off the road to take pictures of signs.

We are in Jackson now staying with my sister in-laws younger sister Becky and her boyfriend Kyle. Tomorrow we are taking a snowmobile tour of Yellowstone so I should have a great post tomorrow night with a link to a great photo album.
