More From The North Country

January 28th, 2009 - I would like to set the record straight on three issues that faithful readers have pointed out.
1. The last picture of my last post is not just of the IMAX but actually the Pan Pacific building. The IMAX is one single component of the building.

2. The reason for the post date discrepancy is because I started to write today's blog post on Monday but did not post it until today when I had time to finish the written sections. I adjusted the date in the body of the text but Blogger (website) still posted it as if it was written Monday.
3. The spelling mistakes have been fixed. I apologize.
Onto better things now. I will not subject you all to another rant filled blog, just pictures and short descriptions the rest of the way. Picture comments come above each picture. Enjoy!

Find Sarah!

This picture does not do justice to the beauty of this woman's fruit counter. She stacked each of her berry trays 12 - 14 inches high in perfect pyramids. The colors were so vibrant, I wish it showed through better in the picture. Sarah and I got blood oranges (might be my new favorite fruit), figs, and passion fruit. They just do not have these markets in the US.

If you are a beef jerky fan and you like wild salmon then you NEED to get your hands on Indian Candy.
What I would do for a meat counter like this in my home town!
Enough said - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Head_cheese

Recently I was turned onto the Travel Channel show Weird Eats with Andrew Zimmern. This market was EXACTLY the kind of place he would have visited and below are EXACTLY the kinds of foods he would have tasted/bought. I passed on the feet but I had to take a picture. Above is a container of chicken hearts.

Since moving to Denver I have fallen in love with west coast oysters. I found a fantastic fish house/restaurant in Denver called Jax Fish House. If you ever visited me in Denver there is a 100% chance we went at least one night you were with me. Sarah and I indulged!!!

I loved the flower stands they had. Again I wish the picture showed the true colors better.

Max (BHBA) I am sorry but when I saw the following picture the first thing that popped into my head was you! If there were no horns I think you two would pass for brothers. I love you man.

The real Slim Shady - Cool & Calm
Finally I had to share some pictures of Liane, Pete and the boys. Liane I am sorry I know I said I wouldn't post this picture but it was the only one of the five of us. The boys were great!

Hope you all enjoyed!
